Child Molesters' Military Retirement Pay

Just as with the general public, military personnel who abuse their children should be held accountable. Just because someone wears a uniform in the armed forces, they should not be treated any differently but need to be subjected to garnishment of their pay like everyone else.

Approximately 1,600 publicly traded corporations “self-insure” for employee benefit healthcare by establishing a trust for the payment of healthcare expenses. This is cheaper than buying insurance from a commercial insurance company. It also means their policies are not regulated by state commissions.

A Shift In Thinking For Abuse Survivors

A big part of my healing from child sexual abuse was about shifting my thinking about myself and how I viewed the world. It was extremely difficult because I had been brainwashed as a young child to believe that I was only allowed to act and think in a certain way. I am going to describe two cycles of behavior.

Child Abuse - A National Disgrace

April is supposed to be Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. How many mentions of it did you hear by the media? I did not hear anyone talk about it in a meaningful way. The estimated number of Americans affected by child abuse each year is 3,154,000. The United States spends around $104 billion per year1 due to the effects of child maltreatment which is the same amount we are spending on the war in Afghanistan.
